Plush Pumpkins

When my mom was visiting in July, we headed up to 50th & France in Edina–always a fun place to browse–and we ducked into Garden Gate Flowers, an out-of-this-world floral shop.  We saw these scrumptious, mouth-watering velvet pumpkins (see photo) and couldn’t resist the urge to poke and prod…and basically, try to figure out how they were made.

Well, Plush Pumpkin (Monya Kampa) makes them, and those pumpkins we saw could very well be hers.  I’m not sure.  Go here to look at all her wonderful creations…and to see where you might purchase.

Or if you’re at all like me, and you’re feeling a little crafty, you can go to the Squash Softies in Family Fun magazine’s Arts & Crafts section and get busy!

Now to find pumpkin stems…

The quote I live by

Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.
