Waterbirds

Thought you’d enjoy this slide show of the various and remarkable waterbirds that Theodore Cross has photographed, compliments of The New York Times.

[Cross’ voice reminds me a little of my UCLA professors–very monotone and non-exuberant, but hang in there, it’s still interesting…]

Cross photographed many of his birds on Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean.  The slide show reminded me of my ten-day trip to the Galapagos Islands back in ’98.  One of my deepest desires is to take Dan and Liliana some day; it’s so amazing, especially in light of evolutionary theories set forth by Darwin…and the geologic study of the vastly different volcanic islands.

There’s so much diverse beauty around us, isn’t there?

Enjoy!
