Snapshots of a Chicago Weekend

Friday night: WhiskyFest Chicago.  Pictures?  What pictures?  Puh-leese, dahling.  Here’s me.  Taste?…or take pictures?  Hmmm.  Easy decision.

Saturday night: The Girl and the Goat with our friends, Pernille and Jay.  You want pictures again?  Alas, you will find no pictures of exotically arranged food or sparkling tumblers of drink.  Too busy imbibing.

I will say this: extraordinary food by Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard.  Out-of-this-world.  We’ve never had anything quite like it.  The restaurant is four months out for reservations, so if you’re thinking you might do the weekend thing to Chicago, reserve now.

Fab friends.

Such a great view from their loft window.

Beautiful Pernille.

OK, and handsome Jay.

Wisdom found on the bathroom wall.

Sigh.  Such happiness being with good friends.

The quote I live by

Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.
