Dan and I first heard this song at a concert in Central Park where Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, and Gillian Welch were all on the ticket.

The song meant something to us, of course, because of our impending adoption.  It also meant something to me, because, at times, I’ve felt like an orphan girl.  Maybe you’ve felt it, too.

As you may already know, Gillian was adopted at an early age.

It’s a beautiful song and one of my favorites.  Enjoy!
