Bella Bunny’s Mama
OK, so now Liliana mimics us in everything. Bella Bunny has a potty chair, too, and she gets an M&M if she goes. So, howdy, I say. Little L. knows exactly what she’s doing–or not doing. And that’s with the supposed language issue, which I don’t really think is an obstacle anymore. She knows most phrases we’re using, because she matches the appropriate action to the request. Amazing, isn’t it? In a little over two weeks home?
Oh yes, and Puppy had to sit on the Naughty Step yesterday. Liliana waited until he stopped crying, then she went to pick him up.
That’s why it amazes me when people summarize their two-year-old as, “Yeah, well, he/she really doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong yet.” And to that, I’ve wanted to say, “Our beagles knew the difference. Are you saying your kids have a lower intelligence than a dog? Hello!”
Liliana continues to talk–all the time. Even over us as we’re talking. She’s filling up the air space around her, because I’m sure she wasn’t allowed to talk or sing much in the orphanage.
Two nights ago, she saw the crescent moon through the window, just as we were identifying it in a board book (don’t you just LOVE those teachable moments, when the very thing you’re doing shows up in real life?).
She stared at it and pointed. Her mouth did that surprised O again. “Moo,” she said. Well, she’s halfway there.
