Marilynne Robinson’s Home

Suffice it to say, I felt a little low last night when I finished Robinson’s latest book, not because it was bad, but because it mirrored my own life so much.  How to explain it?  I’m not going to make any attempt to.  You’ll simply have to read it.  She’s an amazing writer–so concise and so–I don’t know–inexhaustibly elegant in her language.  I loved Gilead, and I loved this companion piece.  Thank you, Kel, for sending it to me.

We go home tomorrow.  Leaving a vacation site is always bittersweet.  It means more of everything busy.  I’m happy we’ve had the bonding time together and the added bonus of having my sister Worthy (Liliana’s namesake) along.

Ciao until Sunday!
