Knitting, Matryoshka Dolls, and Varialand Puzzles

Well, we’re having an awfully fun time this week with Grandma, hence the short blog posts.  Forgive me.

But I’ll let you in on some of our fun.

This morning, I taught Grandma to knit, and she got halfway through a dishcloth before we left the house to do some sightseeing and shopping.  I worked a little on a gift for Grandma–the Summer Shimmer scarf posted on the Purl Bee site here.

Liliana and I played with her new Varialand Wooden Mosaic puzzle, a gift from Clare and her family, since they’ve moved onto a boat now…permanently.  It’s more of a mosaic–where the child decides how the picture will look.  Quite clever.

Then, we played with her matryoshka dolls (Russian/Ukrainian nesting dolls)–all while listening to the Sound of Music!

We browsed shops in the downtown Rochester University Center, adjacent to the Peace Plaza with that wonderful bird water fountain, then went to lunch at Chester’s.

Yawn.  It’s nap time now.  Shhh…
