Friday Evening Bonfire

Well, we had an exquisite time last night, eating and drinking and laughing with friends (oh yes, and repeating ad nauseam–“How do you say that?  Yes, please?”  “No, honey, why don’t you just leave that on the ground.”  And “You can go up to the house to go to the bathroom, or just drop your drawers in the woods.  Which will it be?”)  I’m afraid Liliana has had ample opportunity to do the latter, so she’s like a little boy in that regard.

After dinner, the girls and moms made paper hats (idea courtesy of Maya Made).  Super easy.  As you can see Liliana’s is in progress (she’s the one in the back).  Hannah (left foreground) and Abigail (right foreground) are such the beauties, aren’t they?

I asked them to pose, of course.

Abigail.

Hannah.

Liliana (in progress).

The three lovely ladies (Abigail, Hannah, and Liliana).  We’re missing Lucile here, because she was exploring.

What a wonderful evening!  And my favorite thing of all?  Besides the great company?  The Bretzel Rolls from Smitten Kitchen.  Can I just say that they were the BEST, and I could make them every day from now until I die?  Oh, you have to try them!

Enjoy your Saturday, whatever you’re up to.

I have a date with my husband tonight.  Whoa, we have so much to catch up on, since our life seems to revolve around the 24/7 needs of our aforementioned child.  I’m sure all you parents out there can relate.

So, a happy Saturday to you!  Give someone a kiss today.
