Love Is All You Need
Years ago, my sister Worthy gave me a card that said something along the lines of, “We can sit around all day, not talking, and I still feel like I’ve had the best conversation.”
Has that ever happened to you? Do you know when you’re in the presence of love, acceptance, and peace? The experience is settling, is it not?
I attended another book club last night–Rochester’s Point of View Book Club. [Thank you, all of you!] We had such a great time, discussing things you wouldn’t normally bring up in a casual, passing conversation–bits and pieces about belief, faith, life, suffering, pain, joy. It’s invigorating. It’s uplifting. It’s exciting. When you’re in that place of being known…being understood…being loved…you can only feel a little coddled and appreciated.
The opposite is true. When we listen to others, actually hear what they’re saying, we are giving a gift. The gift of presence. Which translates into love.
How can you “speak” love today?
While you’re thinking about that one, I offer up a gift, for your salivating pleasure: shortbread buttons, the cutest cookies you ever did see, along with a printable recipe card, all at Nikole’s Forty-Sixth at Grace!
Enjoy!
Remember, if you’re in the Wayzata neighborhood next Tuesday evening, join me at The Bookcase! The store is tucked among other fun and quaint shops, right along the lakeshore, if you want to make an afternoon of it.
If you’d like a little wine, light fare, and conversation, including a brand-new paperback of Eve, you might want to sign up for Eve’s Beaujo’s Wine Bar & Bistro event on Monday, Feb. 8. More details on my News & Events page.
I’d love to meet you (or see you again)…
Have a wonderful weekend!
