Julia & Julia…and Women in Art

What a delightfully fun movie!  Go see it if you have a chance.  [You can view the Julia & Julia trailer here.]

WARNING: Do not, and I repeat, do not see it hungry! Don’t say I didn’t warn you.  The food will have you salivating…

Without giving anything away, there was a teensy bit of disappointment (for Dan and me) in the end, because the movie didn’t answer a fundamental question (and I can’t tell you what it is…but you’ll know when you see the movie!).  It’s enough to make you go search out the resolution (or truth) on the internet, but not enough to ruin the movie.

Bon appétit!

And for something entirely different (well, I suppose I could relate the movie to the title of this next YouTube clip–it’s called Women in Art–but that’s about all), I found this wonderful tour of women’s faces in famous pieces of art.  Each face morphs into the other…it’s mesmerizing…and all set to Bach’s Sarabande from Suite No. 1 in G Major for Solo Cello.  Such variety and emotion–I love it!

Enjoy!  Happy Monday, my dear readers!
