Tea Party
Thanks to those of you who shared your quotes with me. They have a new home in my journal (and heart) now.
Several of you have asked for a Liliana update. Well, here she is, cast and all. She’s managing well, even in a coat, as you can see below. She seems to understand that her coat sleeve cannot possibly fit over her cast, because each time we put her coat on, she points to her cast and says, “Big.”
This morning, we had a tea party–with milk–so she could practice pouring. Her Birthday Girl shirt was one I got on clearance, simply for the short sleeves, which is the only type of shirt she can wear right now.
We sat at her table, my knees unable to squeeze under the tabletop, and I began eating my cracker.
“Wait!” she said. “Amen!”
Oh, yes, certainly. I’d forgotten we needed to say grace. It must have been of great urgency, because she didn’t return to her chair. There she stood, holding my hand, closing her eyes, jabbering away. Then came the definite “amen,” and all was well with the world. We could partake now.
