Mother’s Autumn Plunge

Dear, sweet mother friends of mine (and men, too, who happen to be overworked and exhausted), guess what?  Karen Maezen Miller of Momma Zen: Walking the Crooked Path of Motherhood is coming here, to Rochester, MN, to give a one-day retreat in October.  [You’ll know how much Karen’s words have meant to me in the past, if you’ve read my blog posts here and here and here.]

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 10.  It’s a month after school starts.  You’ll be frayed and weary.  You’ll be wishing for some sort of renewal before the holidays set in.

Karen explains it best: “Before you lose yourself in the flurry of the season, take one day, just one day, all for yourself.  Join me at the Mother’s Autumn Plunge on Saturday, Oct. 10, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.  Personal encouragement, spiritual refreshment, easy laughter, beginning meditation, mindfulness practices, meadow walks, and a whole new view offered in the quiet calm of the Assisi Heights Spirituality Center, a place to put trouble to rest.”

Is your interest piqued?  Just a little?

I’m going!  Are you?

Go to the Mother’s Autumn Plunge page to gather more info and register!

[Karen and I have been discussing (joyfully) what this might mean for interfaith gatherings.  What we all might learn from one another.  What we all might gain from one another’s presence.  I’m ecstatic to be part of this event, and I hope to see you there!  What fun we’ll have!]
