Harmonica Fun

One of the gifts Liliana received for her recent birthday was a harmonica, and she’s had such fun learning how to “slide” and breathe in and out, and it all sounds quite fantastic.  Who can go wrong on a harmonica?

Then my mom arrived.  [She’s visiting for a week.]  And guess what?  She knew all about Buddy Greene, so we pulled it up on YouTube.  Liliana sat, enraptured, then afterward, got up to give us a short concert.  Really, it was all about the performance, not necessarily the notes.

But it’s a start.

And we applauded, like the good parents and grandparent we are.

This video is pretty amazing, since we’ve all had those harmonica moments, where we dismiss it as a kid’s toy.  Nuh-uh.  Not anymore.

Go, Buddy Greene, go, go, go!

The quote I live by

Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.
