A Punch of Color

Okay, so I trotted up to the cities yesterday to find some cool, funky fabric for summer dresses for Liliana and aprons for the two of us.

I’m set.  Now all I need to do is go to Chicago this weekend, get my talk done, a panel moderated, and I’m good to go.  Oh, except for that stack of books that my editor from Books & Culture says he has for me when I meet him and his wife for dinner on Saturday night (they live in the suburbs of Chicago).  I’ll have to review those next week.  Then I can sew.

OK, here’s what’s on the docket.  These dresses from Frog Legs and Ponytails–both of them!  This Lola and Lolita apron duo from Sew Liberated.  And an extra Emmeline apron for me (it’s reversible; how great is that?).  If any of you visit, then they’re will be two aprons–well, three, counting that ruffly one I just got from Paper Source recently–plenty for all of us to cook!

Now, I just have to find several vintage pillowcases to make several pillowcase dresses for Liliana–it’s the next best thing to going au naturel–for outdoor summer play!

What are you up to these days?  Traveling?  Planting?  Reading?  Finishing up school?  Whatever it is, may your days be sunshiny and full of glorious new things.

Keep a lookout for my summer book recommendations coming up next week!
